Happy 2012 fellow Thunder Beach members! What a mild winter we are enjoying here, in Ontario. The Bay is wide open and I know you are all hoping that spring will be coming soon with great weather for all of us to enjoy. Tennis Update
Spring is here, so it is time to dust off your tennis racket and get into the swing of things for a brand new Thunder Beach tennis season. You won’t be getting any “love” on the courts this season unless you are sporting the “T.B.A. 2012” tennis tags (only available with a purchase of an individual or family tennis membership.)
The fees for tennis memberships have been adjusted to ensure that an appropriate amount of funding is set aside for the upcoming maintenance expenditures, including resurfacing and taking steps to deal with tree roots and drainage. Now more than ever is an important year to support the tennis at Thunder Beach! See you on the courts!
Thunder Beach Dock Co. Director's Interim Report
Greetings to all Gas Dock Members!
Hopefully everyone has survived the winter and is looking forward to great boating during the summer months. We are certainly looking forward to another busy summer on the Gas Dock.
We will be open for business on the May 24 weekend, and on weekends throughout June. Regular hours of operation (weekdays and weekends) will resume on July 1 although we are considering reducing our weekday hours of operation slightly in order to provide for extended service during the weekends. We are also looking for two or three staffers – please contact Kathy Mihaichuk if you are interested. Lastly, boaters who would like to rent docking space are invited to contact Bill McNamara at (416) 216-3918.
Please do not forget to renew your Dock memberships for 2012. The membership fees are an essential component of the Dock’s financial viability.
We look forward to seeing you on the water!
John Burns, Mike Mihaichuk, Bill McNamara
A Call for Cottage Rental Ads
As some of you are aware, we have been experiencing some technical problems with some people not being able to create ads in our online classifieds section.
As such, we are going to collect any new ads ourselves and post them to the website manually.
If you would like to submit an ad, please send the information along with a picture to mark@markmac.ca by April 15th.
Thank you.
Sympathies
The Thunder Beach community lost a very good friend and neighbour. Tadeusz Zbigniew Robaszewski, 1928 2012, passed away on January 19th. Tad was a member of the community for almost 43 years. He always loved Thunder Bay Beach and created countless memories with friends and family throughout the years. Tad had a happy, active and fulfilling life. He was a sportsman and enjoyed nature very much. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and gathering mushrooms around Georgian Bay, true to style of his european Polish heritage. In 1997 Tad had his first massive stroke, however his mind was never effected and through intensive therapy, regained his mobility. Unfortunately through the years, Tad became weaker and eventually resided at a nursing home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Tad leaves his devoted wife Helen, daughter Danusia, and grandchildren Michael and Sophia. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
