Meet our 2013 counsellors &  CITs !  

Counsellors  

Name: Courtney Jones (Head Counsellor) Nickname: Corky In September I will be: teaching in the Simcoe County District School Board. My favourite thing about camp is: greeting campers every morning! If I could have any super power it would be: to be able to teleport. In the future I would like to: get a puppy! If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: happiness.   Name: Courtney Blair (August) Nickname: Courts or Bee In September I will be: I will be attending university, most likely at U of T for Life Sciences. My favourite thing about camp is: circle time; it encourages every child to participate and allows them to feel accepted within the group through all of the fun songs and mini games. In the future I would like to: find a balance between world travel and working towards a career with children. Most of my work experience involves children, so I know that is what I'm most passionate about, however its another dream of mine to experience as many different levels of the world as I can. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: paradise.   Name: Julianna Bourjeaurd (August) Nickname: Jay In September I will be: in Grade 11. My favourite thing about camp is: circle time! If I could have any super power it would be: to read minds!  In the future I would like to: spend a full year travelling around the world. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: home.   Name: Spencer Boyle (July) Nickname: Spike In September I will be: 16. My favourite thing about camp is: dodgeball!! If I could have any super power it would be: the ability to fly! In the future I would like to: fly a plane. My favourite thing about camp is: the amount of fun we all have. If I could have any super power it would be: the ability to teleport. In the future I would like to: work and travel abroad. My favourite thing about camp is: activity nights because I love to get dressed up. If I could have any super power it would be: to be able to fly because I mean…who wouldn’t want to be able to fly? In the future I would like to: have my own cottage at Thunder Beach. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: HOME!   Name: Somerset Jarvis (July) Nickname: Summer In September I will be: in grade 11 attending the Bishop Strachan School. My favourite thing about camp is: spending time with, and getting to know all of the counsellors and campers. If I could have any super power it would be: to be able to stop and start time whenever I wanted to. In the future I would like to: be an engineer or an inventor because I always have new idea’s that I think could be put to good use. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: community.   Name: Riley Magee  (August) Nickname: Ri In September I will be: 16 My favourite thing about camp is: hanging out with the kids. If I could have any super power it would be: invisibility. In the future I would like to: become a journalist. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: family.   Name: Brendan McCarthy (August) Nickname: BMAC In September I will be: attending Queens University. My favourite thing about camp is: seeing the joy in the kids’ faces. If I could have any super power it would be: super strength! My favourite thing about camp is: everything. If I could have any super power it would be: the ability to fly. In the future I would like to: continue returning to TB. My favourite thing about camp is: Activity Nights –especially Halloween. If I could have any super power it would be: breathing under water. In the future I would like to: be able to help people and make a difference in their lives If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: wonderful.   Name: Cameron Pinnington (July) Nickname: Cam In September I will be: back to school! My favourite thing about camp is: dodgeball of course! If I could have any super power it would be: to time travel. In the future I would like to: be a musician! If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: glorious.   Name: Betsy Smith (August) Nickname: Bets In September I will be: going into Gr. 11. If I could have any super power it would be: being able to make anyone smile. In the future I would like to: happy and healthy. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: home.   Name: Spencer Standish (August) Nickname: Speeny, Spenny In September I will be: in Gr. 12 at UFA and playing a lot of hockey while working hard on my homework ;) My favourite thing about camp is: the kids, they’re what gets me up every weekday morning. They always make me laugh and their energetic personalities always keep being a camp cousnellor interesting. If I could have any super power it would be: super strength, without a doubt. No one would mess with me and I’d look really jacked. In the future I would like to: be in the NHL, but since that’s a long shot I’d like to be a scout for a team in the NHL or their General Manager. If I could use one word to describe Thunder Beach it would be: heaven, it’s the most relaxing and fun place I’ve ever been to!   Name: Aidan Tighe (July) Nickname: Slim Shady In September I will be: in Gr. 11. My favourite thing about camp is: dodgeball. If I could have any super power it would be: to read minds. In the future I would like to: learn to juggle. If I could have any super power it would be: definitely flying. In the future I would like to: travel to as many countries as possible. My favourite thing about camp is: the community, it is a great way to meet new people & see friends. If I could have any super power it would be: the power to fly with wings.
