Summer has arrived! It is hard believe that within a few days our summer 2018 events will be starting. I wanted to take this opportunity before we all get too busy to provide you an update on our Operation Renovation Clubhouse.
Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their generous contributions. I will never underestimate the strength of our community and our love of our beach. As our thermometer went up and funds came rolling in the TBA executive team wants to ensure that we manage these funds wisely and involve our membership. With careful consideration and ideas from the community we have decided to set up a building committee.
This committee will assist us in building a project plan around this renovation. It will assist us in prioritizing what needs to be done first that may be structural, what needs to be done that might be cosmetic. This committee will also ensure the best quality of work based on assisting in the negotiation of contracts/statement of work at reasonable costs. This committee will be outside of the TBA Executive Team, we are hoping people from our community that have the best interest of the community at heart.
I will continue to be the project lead, and I will be the communication conduit to all of our members. I stress that if you have any issues or concerns or do not feel I have communicated enough, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I have started to speak to individuals about helping me on this project and I would certainly love any member that has an interest or unique skill or if you have a network of trades that could assist also reach out to me to have a discussion.
I will be around at Field Day and Lobsterfest if you want to have a quick chat! In the meantime, we have spent some funds on items that needed to be done before the beginning of the summer. We have upgraded the toilets in the washrooms and we have also re-painted the floor. Both required this to be done before events, camp and the rental of the clubhouse.
The TBA Executive under the guidance of Susan Inwood is pleased to announce that as a result of a concern regarding the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers on our roads, Tiny Township has added much needed signage along Green Point Rd. The signs include a 40 km limit sign, signs indicating a winding road, and a caution sign. Enjoy the summer and drive safely and SLOWLY!
Thank you again for all of your support. Can't wait to see you all at Field Day!!
Field Day is this Saturday, June 30th, 10:00 a.m. at the Clubhouse. In addition to races and fun for the whole family, we'll be cookin' up some hot dogs again this year and Thunder Beach apparel will also be on sale.
